We have a winner! For the first time ever, American-made RAM secures first place in J.D. Power’s Initial Quality Rankings, with Dodge coming in at a close second, and Lexus and Mitsubishi trailing closely behind tying for third. Surprisingly, just two years ago Ram was ranked 21st for J.D. Power’s Initial Quality Rankings! It’s safe to say that Ram wasn’t ready to quit the race. Vice President of automotive quality at J.D. Power, Dave Sargent, told Automotive News, “Pickup trucks are not easy to build, [and] the Ram is loaded with content and lots of variations. They have a pretty tough life, with demanding customers. To be No. 1, when all you do is build pickups, is really pretty impressive.” It looks as though Ram won’t be giving up their spot anytime soon. American Made, American Strong! Could you see Ram being your next new car?

You’re probably wondering, “How did J.D. Power conduct the scores?”. The Initial Quality Rankings study surveyed purchasers and lessees of new 2021 model vehicles in nine vehicle categories (infotainment; features, controls, and displays; exterior; driving assistance; interior; powertrain; seats; driving experience; and climate). The survey was based on problems experienced per 100 vehicles in the first 90 days of ownership. With the industry average being 162, Ram ranked 128 problems per 100 vehicles and Dodge with 139.

Dodge & Ram Making it to the 2021 Initial Quality Rankings Study

Ram isn’t the only American-loved car. Be on the lookout, because lately, Dodge has had a lot of eyes on them. They’re slowly, yet surely making a come-up and making their way to the top of the competition as one of the most reliable cars on the market. Known for their workhorse trucks and cool sports cars, they’re also known for their dependability. This is the first time ever where Dodge is the first domestic brand to lead the ranking. Throughout history, Dodge has always been well known for its most identified makes, the Challenger and Charger, which are best known for their high performance. But did you know, in the United States, the Grand Caravan is Dodge’s best-selling car model, while the Charger is the brand’s most popular sedan? The Grand Caravan offers not only standard Stow ‘n Go second-row seats, but its durable interior and bargain price is what you can’t beat! Automatic headlamps and Bluetooth connectivity are also what keep this model in the race for the best-selling car on the market.

Known for their pickup trucks, Ram’s most popular truck is the Dodge Ram 1500. According to MotorTrend, the Ram 1500 made its way to the top of the list of “Best Full-Size Pickup Truck of the Year.” It’s also been given the titles of “Truck of the Year” and “Luxury Vehicle of the Year.” Providing comfort and refinement, you can also find a high-end plush interior and the option of choosing between three different engine choices! The Ram 1500 features technology that keeps the model fresh and modern, meeting high industry standards. This commitment to improve aims to keep Ram at the top of the pickup truck market. Its new appearance, strong engine choices, and interior space are all attractive selling points that keep this truck on the top of the market list.
